About
I earned my doctoral degree in Materials Science and Engineering in April 2021 through the NIMS-University of Tsukuba Joint Graduate School Program, under the supervision of Prof. Kazuhiro Hono. My Ph.D. research primarily focused on developing heat-treatable wrought magnesium alloys with excellent formability. Subsequently, I joined the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) as a postdoctoral researcher, where I investigated hydrogen embrittlement in high-strength steels using advanced cryogenic-transfer atom probe tomography. In August 2024, I joined Professor David N. Seidman's group at Northwestern University as a postdoctoral researcher. My current work is centered on developing high-strength, high-toughness Fe-Ni steels. Throughout my academic and research journey, I have accumulated extensive experience in utilizing advanced techniques, including focused ion beam (FIB), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and three-dimensional atom probe (3DAP), to elucidate the relationship between microstructure and properties of metallic materials.
