Ammar M. Abu-Hudrouss was born in Khan-Younis, Palestine, in 1977. He received the B.Sc. degree from Islamic University Gaza, Palestine, in 2000. He received the MSc degree in Telecommunication Engineering and the PhD degree in Communication Engineering from Birmingham University, Birmingham, U.K., in 2003 and 2007, respectively. He was a visiting researcher at University of York from 9/2012 to 9/2013 as a holder of Distinguished Scholar Award from the Arab Fund for Social and Economic Development. He is currently a Professor of Communications at Islamic University of Gaza, Palestine. He is also a member of CTRC,P-ICTRA.
During his work at IUG, Prof. Abu-Hudrouss has been granted to presume several short scientific visits to international universities in European and Canada. Prof. Abu-Hudrouss is currently a member of many local and national committees and councils including Palestinian Engineering Syndicate, Higher Council for Innovation and Excellence, Crisis and Disaster Master Program Committee, and Consultant Council for IUG Incubator. Prof. Ammar is the IUG coordinator for the Erasmus + Project (2017-2020): “e-Academy to support Smart Cities Operation in Palestine” and he is an active team member in the QIF project (2018-2020): “Improving Engineers' Qualifications to Meet the Needs of the Labor Market in the Field of Energy and Smart Cities”.
Prof. Abu-Hudrouss is a Palestinian team leader in a joint project with Saarland University in Germany. The project aims to develop disaggregation algorithms from smart metering data in Smart Grids.
His current research interests are Index Modulation, and Coding, Localization, Software Defined Radio , and Digital Signal Processing for Smart Grid.
