Reservoir Geoscientist and Engineer with a broad background.
My PhD thesis covered two main topics; the effect of fine layering on seismic wave propagation and the use of the matching pursuit method to extract seismic attributes.
Promotors: Guus Berkhout and Kees Wapenaar.
PhD awarded “cum laude” (top 5%). Delphi was recipient of 2001 Distinguished Achievement Award by SEG. Delphi Consortium is supported by ~30 companies, incl. Total. Delphi Consortium is considered one of the top-3 seismic research consortia in the world.
Research visits at Stanford Rock Physics Laboratory (Mavko, petrophysics), Stanford Centre for Reservoir Forecasting (Journel and Caers, geostatistics), Seismic Attribute Consortium (Tanner, attributes), Amoco Tulsa Technology Center (Marfurt, attributes).
My MSc thesis covered the petrological and petrophysical characterization of a 125 m long cored section containing sandy braided river deposits from Upper Carboniferous period.
MSc awarded “magna cum laude” (top 10%). Recipient of 1992 student prize by Royal Flemish Society of Engineers (KVIV).
