Gloria Mayen Umukoro is an Associate Professor in the University of Calabar, Nigeria. She holds a Masters in African Literature and Ph.D in Francophone Culture and Civilization. She is a member of the Faculty of Arts / Humanities Scholar Association of Nigeria Universities (FAHSANU), and the Nigerian French Teacher's Association of Nigeria (UFTAN). Gloria is a dynamic researcher and an active member of a research team On Federal Government/World Bank Assisted Project on Science, Technology and Education (STEP-B) in University of Calabar. She equally made significant contribution in the research activity of the same team involved in the University of Calabar Centre of Excellence on Education and Infectious Diseases. Her current research interest is in Diasporic Culture, Immigrant language, Culture and Regional Integration. She speaks English, French and Efik. Dr. Umukoro being bi-lingual handles the translation work of the Institute from French to English and vise-versa. She equally handles the Translation of the Efik language, which is very important in community entry in the Institute’s community based research programmes.
