About
Environmental genomics is a topic of our interest; at this particular moment we want to understand how the gut's microbiota and the corresponding microbiome of Mexican humans, respond to changes in their external environment through diet, in association to a healthy condition and phenotypes such as diabetes, and obesity among other diseases due to defective inflammatory conditions in the individual.

We developed exciting work on RNA-protein interaction which elucidated the molecular determinants that allows specific recognition of RNA loops by the protein. The novel conclusions of this work, are fundamental for the field of molecular RNA recognition.
