I am developing a microbial electrosynthesis platform to produce fuels from carbon dioxide and store energy for later use. I design electrochemical systems, optimize microbial media for use in electrochemical systems, identify and enrich microbes more suitable to perform microbial electrosynthesis. I use electrochemical techniques such as chronoamperometry and cyclic voltammetry, perfom proteomic analysis and physiological characterizations on microbes capable of using electrons from an electrode.
