Professor at the Yachay Tech University in Ecuador in Microbiology and Genetics since 2017. Researcher in molecular evolution of bacterial pathogens of plants.
Postdoctoral training in the Jean T. Greenberg lab, The University of Chicago, Chicago, IL, USA, on plant-bacteria interaction. My research was devoted to studying an extremely harmful plant bacterial pathogen called Ralstonia solanacearum and their secreted proteins that execute the pathogenic activity. In parallel, the investigation focused on the pathogen diversity in Bolivia and worldwide.
Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Chile. The Ph.D. dissertation was about the secretion of an antimicrobial peptide produced by a bacterium (Klebsiella pneumoniae) that is active against closely related species of bacteria.
Postdoc at Jean T. Greenberg lab.
