Dr. Julwan Hendry Purba is a senior researcher at the national nuclear energy agency of Indonesia (BATAN). He is a core member of the reactor safety and technology research group. He is also a core member of the executive board for supervising researchers at the center for nuclear reactor technology and safety (PTKRN).
His main research interests lie in the area of probabilistic safety assessment, risk assessment, computational intelligence, fuzzy system, uncertainty processing, and software development. He has published 1 book, 2 book chapters and more than 30 scientific papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings.

He received International Scientific Publication Awards from Kementerian Riset, Teknologi dan Pendidikan Tinggi (Kemenristekdikti) in 2019 and from Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan (LPDP) in 2016, the 2nd place award of the Atom Indonesia Best Paper Awards in 2014 and Australian Development Scholarships in 2001-2003 and in 2009-2013.

He serves as Editor-In-Chief for Atom Indonesia and for Journal of Nuclear Reactor Technology Tri Dasa Mega, and has served as Guest Reviewer for a number of Journals published by Elsevier, Springer, World Scientific, Science and Engineering, Taylor & Francis, Wiley, and IOS Press. He has also been awarded Outstanding Reviewers and Recognised Reviewers by a number of qualified scientific journals.
