My goal as leader of root, tubers and bananas (RTBs) variety development is to exploit the genetic resources of RTBs to improve productivity, enhance climate change adaptation and resilience, and boost nutritional content and commercial value using a comprehensive state-of-the-art toolbox. The toolbox will have classical breeding and genetics and the more advance genomic and metabolomic approaches to fight poverty and malnutrition in SS-Africa, South, Southeast Central Asia and Latin America.
