Nalin Rastogi (PhD 1981, DSc 1984) worked as a "Directeur de Recherche de Classe Exceptionnelle" at Institut Pasteur, and Director of WHO Supranational TB Reference Laboratory at Institut Pasteur de la Guadeloupe (French West Indies). During a research career spanning 40 years, he has directed more than 140 trainees, (including 22 postgrads and 14 PhDs), and authored almost 400 papers. A renowned expert on tuberculosis diagnostics, drug resistance & molecular epidemiology, he also coordinated one of the biggest TB genotyping databases in the world (SITVIT2). A nominated Faculty member & Editor with F1000 until June 2018, and Editor of various scientific journals, his research has mainly focused on global TB transmission & Geo-localization for the last 2 decades. He retired from service in June 2018.
