My scientific interests concern the development of theories and tools to understand multiscale hydrologic processes. My main area of research has focused on multiscale features of peak flows and self-similar river networks. I am the main developer of the Network Oriented GIS CUENCAS-GIS and the Flood Forecasting System used by the Iowa Flood Center (CUENCAS-HM-Async) to predict floods in Iowa. My contributions lay between theoretical and applied methods to predict the hydrological cycle.
