Supervised by Prof. Paul Kerswill and Dr. Sam Hellmuth, I carried out a sociolinguistic study looking for evidence of change in the Minya dialect, under the influence of the dialect of Cairo, both in Egypt. Conducting this project has made me familiar with the sociolinguistics literature in many languages, aware of the factors behind language variation and change in Arabic and skillful at data collection, transcription, management, visualization, and statistical analysis.
