Dr. Sérgio Tenreiro de Magalhães is Associate Professor and Department Chair (Cybersecurity) at Champlain College Online. Prior to Champlain, he was a researcher of the Software Engineering and Management Group of the Algoritmi Research Center (University of Minho) and Assistant Professor at Catholic University of Portugal. He is/was a member and reviewer of a number of organizations, including the NATO Multinational Cyber Defence Education and Training project and the Editorial Committee of the International Journal of Electronic Security and Digital Forensics. Dr. Magalhães has a PhD in Information Systems and Technologies from the University of Minho (Portugal). Reporting to the Assistant Provost, the Chair for Cybersecurity is responsible for providing curriculum development, oversight, and subject matter expertise to the College's online undergraduate and graduate degree programs in the cybersecurity and digital forensic areas. These programs are housed in the Division Champlain College Online, which is responsible for the College's adult professional education and online programs. This position hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates part-time adjunct faculty who are teaching online. This role is responsible for ensuring effective, high quality programs that result in desired learning outcomes, and build and maintain industry support through involvement with industry practitioners, thought leaders, employers and external organizations.
