Dr Garcia is a Senior Lecturer and the current Deputy Head of the School of Law. He has served as Acting Dean, Head of Students, Law Discipline Leader and Academic Program Director of the School of Law (UOW). He teaches Law of Business Organisations and Banking Law. Dr Garcia’s research interests focus on the fields of law and development, banking law, corporations law, international economic law and global political economy. Dr Garcia has been a Visiting Research Fellow at the Institute of Developing Economies, Japan External Trade Organization (IDE-JETRO) and a Visiting Professor at the Iberoamerican Institute, Sophia University (Japan). In Venezuela, Dr Garcia worked as a corporate lawyer and he served as the General Counsel of the Venezuelan Development Bank (BANDES) and as an in-house
