Dr. Wong Hung is an Associate Professor of the Department of Social Work and the Director of Centre for Quality of Life Studies and  Co-Director of Centre for Social Innovation Studies, Hong Kong Institute for Asia-Pacific Studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Dr. Wong got his Bachelor degree at the Department of Social Work of CUHK, He was granted MA and PhD in Sociology by the University of Warwick. His research interests include labour, social security and poverty issues. He has conducted research on marginal workers, unemployed youth and residents in old urban area. In recent years, he has actively advocated for Community Economic Development and the setting up of a universal pension scheme in Hong Kong. He is the Vice-Chair of Oxfam Hong Kong and was the ex-Chair of the UNISON. He was an a Co-op member of the Social Security and Retirement Protection Task Force of the Commission on Poverty.

Trends and Implications of Poverty and Social Disadvantages in Hong Kong: A Multi-disciplinary and Longitudinal Study (Strategic Public Policy Research Funding Scheme, RGC)

A comprehensive and longitudinal research to measure and gauge the current trends as well as implications of poverty and social disadvantages in Hong Kong. Focus on the impacts of poverty on children and youth and its relationship with health inequality.
Rebuilding Post-disaster Community form Inside out: Action Research on an Asset-based Social Recovery Project in Beichuan (South China Programme, CUHK)
